Happy Thanksgiving

I just finished reading, Dan Kennedy’s Time Management book, “No B.S. Time Management for Entrepreneurs”. A lot of his insights I thought were good and thought I would share some.

Part of the reason why I’m writing this is because of a tip in “No B.S.”, Dan Kennedy mentioned that everyday, rain or shine, whether holiday or not, he spends a hour first thing in the morning writing.

That’s part of the reason why he can write so many books, newsletters, and sales copy for his clients.

He talked about how success isn’t about doing one or two things. If you really want success it’s not about one or two accomplishments, or one or two big things… He says that if you want to know why a successful person is successful you have to look at the two or three things that he does everyday– The things that he doesn’t let a day goes by without doing…

I wrote about this in an email I sent to my Master Mind Group, here’s an excerpt of it:

“Hey Guys,

I’m reading this book right now “No B.S. Time Management for Entrepreneurs” by Dan Kennedy

A few of the things I like that can be applied to us…

1. Make a decision. Decide what you are going to do, no more “should” etc.
2. No excuses. There is no excuse for not doing what you should be doing. What are your top 3 things you have to do to further your singing career? You political career? Your business? Your wealth?

3. It takes all the mystery and mystique of a successful person away. “When you closely examined a highly successful person, in any field, you walk away saying to yourself:

Well, it’s no wonder he’s doing so well. Look at everything he does.

4. I can do a good job of predicting what your bank balance will be a year from now, if you’ll give me the following information:
What’s in your account today?
A list of the books you read and tapes you listened to last month.
Some information about the five people you hang out with most.
A little analysis of how you spend your time during an average week.

Success = Time + Focused, Action”

So even though it’s Thanksgiving, I am thankful I have the opportunity to share with you. Hope you are having a great Thanksgiving.
